Mt Bellenden Ker from Mt Bartle Frere at Sunset. Incredibly, the granites on both these mountain are different. The Bartle Frere granite is described as pale grey to white, fine to medium grained, while the Bellenden Ker granite is described as white to pale grey, even grained but extensively deformed. The Malbon Thompson Range to the east is made from Bellenden Ker granite.
